Process FAQ

Questions About Our Sourcing Process

Common questions about how the apparel sourcing workflow operates from inquiry to delivery.

How long does the entire sourcing process take?
From initial inquiry to bulk delivery, expect 10-20 weeks total. This includes requirement translation (1-2 weeks), manufacturer matching (1-2 weeks), sampling (3-6 weeks), pre-production (1-2 weeks), bulk production (4-8 weeks), and shipping (2-6 weeks depending on destination).

To begin, we need your product specifications (tech packs or references), target quantities, quality and compliance requirements, target pricing parameters, and desired timeline. Even if you have rough concepts, our team can help develop detailed specifications.

Based on your requirements, we identify manufacturers with validated capacity, relevant certifications, experience in your product category, and appropriate pricing structures. We present a shortlist with recommendations, and you select the best fit for your needs.

We coordinate production kickoff, monitor milestone progress, provide regular status updates, and manage issue escalation if problems arise. You receive visibility into production progress without managing day-to-day factory communication.

TexXport coordinates in-line inspections during production, pre-shipment final inspections based on AQL standards, and facilitates third-party inspection when required. We verify defect rates and manage corrective action if quality issues arise.

We coordinate all standard export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, GSP certificates where applicable, and compliance certifications required for your destination market.

While we manage the primary relationship to ensure consistent communication, we facilitate direct discussions when needed—especially during sampling and technical specification reviews. Our role is to streamline, not obstruct, productive communication.

Changes during production are possible but may impact timelines and costs. We facilitate change requests with manufacturers, assess implications, and provide updated quotes and schedules. Early-stage changes are easier and less costly than mid-production modifications.
